CNN.com "Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnancy raises legal questions"

Jamie-Lynn Spears has just recently told Ok Magazine of her pregnancy. She also told them that the father is her 18 year old boyfriends who she had been dating for years. Legal issues have been brought up about how it might not have been legal that the 18 year old got Jamie-Lynn pregnant. It may be legal depending on where and when it took place. Critics of the National statutory rape law say that “laws that are ignored in some cases can be used to put other teens in prison and land them on sex-offender registries”. In California where Jamie-Lynn shoots her Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101” it is illegal for have sex with someone younger than 18 if the offender is less than three years older. This is that fact that is causing issues.
